Real expertise. Real relationships. Real results.
When you look for an experienced CPA firm in Sioux Falls, you are likely looking for more than someone who just plugs numbers into software. You want someone who understands your business, answers your questions directly, and helps you make sense of complex financial situations. Running a business or managing family finances across Lincoln County means handling constant change. You deserve a certified public accountant in Sioux Falls, SD, who steps up as a true financial partner.
My name is Daniel Foster, CPA, and I built EDG CPA to offer exactly that. My path to accounting was not traditional, and that diverse background benefits your financial strategy today.
I started my academic journey earning a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Dakota. This scientific training taught me to analyze deep, technical data, a skill that translates directly to hunting for tax savings. From there, I moved into a corporate career within the oil and gas sector. Working in that complex, fast-moving field showed me how vital accurate financial planning is for operational survival. I knew I wanted to bring that level of institutional expertise directly to local business owners and families.
To pivot my career, I earned a Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA) from the University of South Dakota. I earned my CPA license in 2014, and I have spent over a decade working in both public accounting and private corporate finance.
When I am not analyzing financial statements, you might find me in the skies. As a Certified Flight Instructor, I know how to stay calm under pressure and teach complex concepts clearly. These technical skills require absolute precision, just like preparing a Form 1040 or an S-Corp tax return.
Most importantly, I am a family man proud to call this community home. My roots are right here, and I care deeply about helping businesses thrive throughout Sioux Falls and Harrisburg, SD.
Delta Accounting works alongside EDG CPA to provide accounting and advisory services to businesses throughout the Sioux Falls area.
Holden Cotton is the owner of Delta Accounting, a Sioux Falls accounting and advisory firm focused on helping business owners better understand and manage their finances.
Holden began his career in public accounting with Eide Bailly LLP, where he worked as an Audit Associate and developed a strong foundation in financial reporting and accounting. He later served as Chief Financial Officer for HSK Commercial Holdings LLC, gaining firsthand experience managing the financial side of an operating business.
That combination of public accounting and real-world business experience led Holden to start Delta Accounting in 2023. Today, he works closely with business owners on accounting, financial cleanup, reporting, and advisory services, with a particular focus on giving business owners clear financial information they can use to make better decisions.
Holden earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of South Dakota.
I’m Brant Waege, and I handle tax preparation and the day to day office operations here at EDG CPA. My path here wasn’t a straight line, honestly. I spent years in IT and corporate sales before I ever touched a tax return, and that background still shapes how I work today.
Think of me as the guy who keeps the engine running while everyone else looks at the dashboard. Before joining the firm, I built a career around client management and technology sales. I learned how to talk tech to non-tech people, which turns out to be a pretty handy skill in accounting too. Tax software, database systems, data security… none of it scares me. I’ve been solving these kinds of puzzles for a long time.
Here’s what I actually do, day to day. I review and organize W-2s, 1099s, and expense ledgers, making sure everything checks out before it lands on a CPA’s desk for final sign off. I also manage client onboarding, answer the phone (a lot, especially in March), and keep our scheduling from turning into chaos during tax season.
Dan and I go back to high school. We’ve been friends for decades now, and that history means we trust each other completely. It also means the firm runs on the kind of shorthand you only get from knowing someone that long.
At home, life stays busy. I’m married with three kids and a dog who thinks he runs the household. Between soccer practices and tax deadlines, there’s rarely a quiet moment, but I wouldn’t trade it. Work hard, show up for your people, that’s really the whole philosophy.
